We are thrilled to announce that two of our incredible scholars from Alliance Ouchi-O’Donovan 6-12 Complex have been recognized by YoungArts this year, showcasing their exceptional talent and dedication to the arts!
Karla Linares (12th Grade)
Karla has been awarded the prestigious title of Winner with Distinction in photography, an honor that places her among only 10 high school photography students nationwide to receive this recognition. As part of this achievement, she has been invited to attend an all-expenses-paid week in Miami in January, where she will compete for awards ranging from $1,000 to $10,000.
During her time in Miami, Karla will take part in interdisciplinary classes with other outstanding young artists across disciplines like Dance, Music, Film, Design, Visual Arts, Theater, Voice, and Writing. Check out her winning portfolio!
Narnia Blackwell (12th Grade)
Narnia has been recognized as a YoungArts Winner in photography! She will have the chance to participate in YoungArts LA next semester and has been awarded $250 for her outstanding work. Check out her winning portfolio!
Congratulations Karla and Narnia! A special shout out to Art Teacher, Alex Len Mediate, for being an unwavering champion and mentor for our future scholar-artists.
