8th Leaders of Change Trivia Night
Spearheaded by the Alliance Foundation's Young Professionals Board, our Leaders of Change Scholarship fundraiser raises money to support the many intelligent and resilient scholars who bring life to Alliance campuses everyday. All proceeds from Leaders of Change benefit the Alliance Gayle Miller Leaders of Change Scholarship Fund, which provides four-year college scholarships to graduating Alliance high school seniors. This year's virtual event raised over $160,000, awarding nine exceptional Alliance seniors with a Leaders of Change scholarship ($20,000). Additionally, one Alliance senior received the Judy Burton Impact Award ($20,000), a four-year scholarship offered to an outstanding Black or African American scholar who is passionate about social and racial justice, public service, and/or positive change in the world. Heroes Among Us
Our Heroes Among Us celebration brings together the Alliance Foundation’s friends and supporters to honor philanthropic and business leaders in our Los Angeles community with the Frank E. Baxter Heroes Award. The event also honors Alliance’s Alumni of the Year and those on the frontlines of educational equity – teachers. This past May, over 300 members of our Alliance community came together—in person for the first time in nearly three years. We raised a total of $1,252,322 for Alliance scholars and schools, including $95,000 to send an additional 19 Alliance seniors off to college with College Care Package scholarships. Congratulations to our 2022 Awardees: Alliance Teacher of the Year Wynter Williams-Adams, Alliance Alumni of the Year Estefany Rodriguez, and Frank E. Baxter Heroes Award Honorees Lauren Leichtman and Arthur Levine.
