About the SSB

The Alliance Foundation Scholar Success Board (SSB) is a group of young professionals in fields ranging from consulting, finance, and tech to entertainment, education, and more. The SSB works to gather philanthropic-minded civic leaders who believe education is important, are aware of the critical issues facing our public schools, and want to help scholars in LA’s most systemically oppressed communities.

Our mission is to inspire Alliance scholars to elevate their college ambitions and to develop resources to make those ambitions attainable.

Our purpose is to empower our scholars to be examples for their families and communities of what is possible with a strong academic foundation.

What We Do

The SSB collaborates with the Alliance board, Alliance staff, and Alliance’s 26 high-performing, tuition-free, open-enrollment middle and high schools to:

  • Raise money for Alliance to fund college scholarships and other student-facing initiatives (Fundraising and Marketing)
  • Organize new scholar events and resources and assist with existing college and career events for Alliance scholars (Scholar Advocacy and Support)
  • Engage and build the SSB member pipeline (Membership)

Over the past decade, the Scholar Success Board has raised more than $1.5 million in college scholarships.
