Alliance welcomes Joseph Acevedo to the Alliance College-Ready Public Schools Foundation Board of Trustees.

Acevedo brings over 25 years of financial experience to the Alliance Board. He currently serves as Managing Director and Co-Head of Portfolio Management for the BlackRock Impact Opportunities Fund within BlackRock Equity Private Markets.

He looks forward to bringing his expertise in private market investment to bear, including experience gained through work with MoonSail Capital, Univision, Pharos Capital Group, J.P. Morgan, G. Cowen, and Morgan Stanley.

As a first-generation college student who benefited from access to a high-quality education, he is passionate about leveraging his financial expertise to level the playing field and make excellent education available to the Alliance community:

“My hope is that the Alliance Schools, which have served their communities so well these past 20 years, will continue to thrive and shape students for another 20 years and beyond. Giving students the ability to attend college and the tools they need to succeed is priceless and a gift I hope that we can all continue to pay forward.”

Joseph graduated from Harvard College with an A.B., cum laude, in Government and holds an M.B.A. in Finance from the Wharton School, where he was a Robert A. Toigo Fellow.  He is a Board Member of the New America Alliance (NAA) and a former board member of the Toigo Alumni Endowment and hopes to serve as a role model for Alliance scholars.

The Alliance Board of Trustees will benefit from Acevedo’s unique financial experience with fundraising and boards from across healthcare, business services, media, technology, and financial services industries.
