Alliance Collins Family College-Ready High School’s Junior State of America (JSA) chapter, recently honored as California’s Chapter of the Year, has achieved a remarkable milestone. We’re excited to announce that this exceptional group of scholars have also been named JSA National Champions, earning them a well-deserved spotlight in La Opinión!

“Esta nación necesita que los latinos den un paso adelante y traigan su cultura y traigan su voz. Se remonta al sueño que tuvo mi abuelo y
veo los mismos sueños que tienen mis estudiantes; que todos los latinos pueden pasar – del sí se puede, al sí se pudo.”

“This nation needs Latinos to step forward and bring their culture and bring their voice. It goes back to the dream my grandfather had, and
I see the same dreams my students have; that all Latinos can go – from ‘yes, we can’ to ‘yes, we did’.”

Fun fact: Recent alumna and former Alliance Collins JSA President, Audrey Landeros, played a major role in introducing the Alliance Scholar Bill of Rights. This fall, Audrey has begun her first semester at Yale University, studying Political Science with a concentration in Pre-Law. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree, she plans to attend law school and run for public office in the City of Los Angeles!
